DK8 – Murder Was The Bass (MYSL Reboot) 0

Heaving breaks re-release – What in all blazing fuck is going on with the recent proliferation of the pre fix “We Are…” to seemingly every bastard event, website, band or company in the whole of the universe.
A cursory google search turns up a tonne of results, here’s a few scraped from the top

www.wearemulticolored.com/
www.wearerecords.se/
We Are Seventeen
www.wearereplay.com
www.wearemedia.org/
wearehunted.com/
WE ARE WOLVES
www.wearescientists.com/
www.wearechange.org

One might conclude it’s a way to get around purchasing a proper domain name .

“Oh no ! Scientists.com has gone – however will my inconsequential band reach stratospheric stardom now?, I’ll try wearescientists.com –yep that’s available.”

Sling “We Are..” in front of any name and hey presto you’ve somehow managed to double the amount of popular top level domain names available. You could do the same with personal websites if you really wanted.

“Hmm…Barack Obama.com has gone….hang on, what about I Am Barack Obama.com – yep that’s free”
This could go on forever. You can go and get “NoWEarewolves.com” and in response someone else can go and bag “IthinkyoullfindWEarewolves”

But that’s not why the usage of “We Are” has spread in such popularity. People think its a really cool thing to do.

They think it’s like sticking a flag in their brand and resting one foot on it, raising a clenched fist to the world and triumphantly bellowing “We Are!!! (insert whatever the fuck you want right here) But actually where this may have been construed as a bold and salient statement in seconds gone by, it just gets lost in the thudding drone of mediocrity. And before you know it some gobby website like this will pick up on it and start ripping into your great idea and you start to feel like a bit of a prick. Hahaa!

Why stop at the first person, plural, infinitive of the verb to be? Lets work our way through the whole motherfucking conjugation shall we?

I am Scientists
You are multicoloured
He She It is wolves
We are Change
You (pl.) are replay
They are records

You (pl.) are cunts.
