Culture Clash 2010 – October 14th – Roundhouse London ⁰

The next Culture Class lands at the Roundhouse in Camden next week. The wingman snaffled me a ticket (gee whaddaguy)

If you don’t know the format – 4 sound stages representing 4 crews are set up in the awesome setting of the Roundhouse and each take it in turn to drop a track and blow the shit out of the crowd. The one that makes the most noise and gets the best crowd reaction at the end of the night- wins.

Check the video for the last Soundclash earlier this year. Quite what Trojan are doing trying to comp Mala and Goldie with a Ken Boothe track is beyond me.  Next Friday at work is going to be SHIT.

OTT GLITCH METAL – This track has to get an honorable mention. The time of year approaches when the days in the UK are are cold, miserable and wet . Categorically the best way to spend a weekend is to go out, get monumentally wrecked and wiggle your little socks off knowing that there is NOTHING better to do than spend the next day in the pub getting plastered and talking bollocks with your mates.

During the winter months local pub landlords will find me and my mates outside their establishment on a sunday morning waiting for the doors to open. Once we’re in we will head straight for the juke box , pump it full of pound coins and the first track that goes on is always Def Leppard – Pour Some Sugar On Me. No idea why, but it’s become tradition and a salute to our fallen friends.

You can drum along to this and still drink your pint.Ace.

Taking the craft of the mashup to next level Mux seamlessly boots together the audio and vision from a range of video clips into this unique movie of VJ prowess. I’ve not really kept across the developments of AV DJ stuff but knowing there are people out there thinking on the video level (pun for the AV geeks out there..hoho…errgh) and taking time to sort stuff like this out is fills me with joy and I’l be honest, sensations of total inadequacy. Clever bastards.
